I've got a 2012 103TDI and started noticing a consistent rattle from the sunroof. It disappeared when the roof was open, but always returned when shut. Took it to my Skoda dealer (Gosford) who contacted Skoda to learn that it was a known problem and the fix was to completely remove the sunroof, apply a particular lubricant and re-install the sunroof paying particular attention to its alignment.
I was a bit dubious particularly when the dealer told me they had not done this procedure before and that it might take them more than a day as all the roof lining had to be removed.
Dropped off the Yeti at 8 am on the appointed day and the dealer rang at 11:30 am to say it was all finished and the rattle was gone.
Its now been a month and the roof is still rattle free so I'm hoping the fix is permanent.
I'm disappointed that the problem occurred in the first place, but very pleased with both Skoda and their Central Coast dealer for their response.
All work was done under warranty.
