Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Yeti coolant leak

Fired up the yeti today and had a warning light on the dash indicating a low coolant levels. Checked it and the bottle was nearly empty. Wife reminded me that this happened just 2 months ago too and had RACQ top it up for her. Had some coolant in the garage so I topped it up and had a look on the floor and noticed a small pool of coolant fluid. Looks like the yeti has it's first issue but will get it checked into skoda sometime next week and will update on the progress. Seems to be a mild leak as it's taken 2 months to show from the last fill.

Sorry to hear about the leak. If its been happening over a few months hopefully there'll be a telltale trail on the block.

Was just told there were no signs of external damage so they'd change it since it was covered by warranty. Will ask about the specific details when I pick up the car tomorrow

New radiator installed. Was told there was a crack/leak on some part in the front but was in a rush to get to work so didn't get any further details. Happy with Skoda Brisbane's service and warranty service. I think I'll have to look into extended warranty just for peace of mind

hey guys, haven't been here for a while.
Just read this post, the same happen to me about 6weeks ago.
Trivett Skoda replaced mine under warranty.
Apparently its where the plastic meets the aluminium core.
It was a pain in the arse, one morning the warning light went on and the coolant reserviour was close to empty.
