Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Just brought a 103TDI

Well, the wife and I put a deposit on a 103TDI DSG in Lava Blue with Factory Reversing sensors today.

    Rather excited I must say.

We originally got some pricing from Skoda in Roseberry, Sydney. And I must say they weren't the easiest to deal with. A little pushy and they weren't really interested in helping us out.

Big thanks to Mitchell and Ethan from Skoda Newcastle. They were easy to deal with, and very straight to the point with awesome pricing, which made them easy to deal with.

Never purchased a new car before so it's a real exciting time and those two have made the process both and easy and enjoyable one so far!

Already looking at a few little modifications..
    -Window Tint
    -Ozishield (or equivalent)
    -Wind Deflectors
    -Scuff Plates
    -Sports Pedals

And who knows, possibily a tune later down the track.

Rather excited about it all. Thanks for everyone's advice.

Thanks probbo, we are rather excited.

Made the deal for $31,500 D/A. 103TDI 4x4, DSG, lava blue metallic paint option, factory reversing sensors option, 5 years extended warranty with 5 years roadside assist.

We MIGHT have been about to get another $500 off it, but I didn't want to push it. I was more then happy buying for that amount. Not only is it already a steal at that price (especially compared to the competitors in the same $30k-32k price range!!), but we took it for two test drives on different occasions, and the lads went out of their way to help us out with straight forward pricing, and to answer our questions.

In fact, when we asked for the SAME vehicle at Skoda, Sydney... their initial price was at least $2.5k MORE and were reluctant to budge.

So for the sake of the service we have had so far, NO problems paying a little more then I 'could' have gotten it for.

Great price Tonba...........having has my 112TSI for a couple of days, I'm wrapped with the car. Agree it's hard to beat at the runout prices. Test drove a couple of others.....inc a CX-5, Dualis, and ASX.........just boring compared with the Yeti.

My experience was very similar. Couple of dealers were after my business but two others put a "take it or leave it price" on the table....must have made their quota for the month

Mines a white one (I like the black trim contrast) and if lucky might get it next weekend, can't wait to feel the depth of quality.
Frankston VW/Skoda were delightful to deal with, even the 'extras' lady who didn't mind our refusal.

So we picked ours on on Monday the 10th of Feb. And to be honest, we couldn't be happier. We picked it up, took it straight to get windows tinted, then yesterday we got it signwritten for our business.

So excited. We haven't been able to stop driving it!! Done 700+Kms in it on our first two days!!! With a trip meter fuel consumption reading of 6.8l/100kms.

loving it!!! Will post pictures shortly

                Good to hear Tonba,
i picked up my silver one yesterday also and am loving it although the rear park sensors that are on the invoice, are not actually on the car.
The originally ordered white one was going to be supplied with them but the interminable delays resulted Ina silver one being accepted but the dealership failed to notice it in the original order and seeing it's listed at more than $500 dollars for which I have paid I guess they will simply be able to plug one in. I didn't get charged for metallic either.....a real bargain.

My only disappointment is the lack of digital speed display because the interpretation of the speedo is almost a safety issue for me.

Yeah, found it but wish it was a bit bigger. I was looking for a pic of it. It's going to take me a while to get across the VW protocols and data is somewhat buried and complex for this old guy.
                            Ta again Tonba.

                              yeah, we don't mind it.

                              Not an issue.
