Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Sell Me Your Spitzberg's!

Hi again, sorry to make ANOTHER thread regarding wheels, but it'd dawned on me that if I just out exactly what I want in the title, I might have better luck. I'm taking delivery of my 77tsi with Nevis wheels next week, and while those wheels are certainly good enough, I am much more interested in getting my hubs wrapped in the 17" Spitzberg numbers. There must be someone out there who's upgraded from their factory delivered Spitzberg's and they're looking to make some cash back from the unused wheels? I'm in Brisbane, and willing to pay for the postage.

    Thanks!

That would be me - I am trying to source a set of black alloys to put on my Yeti 130TDI, to replace the Spitzbergs. One of them has a scratch on it that any wheel specialist could make disappear, but I'll verify that first.

Are you in a hurry? Because it may take me a while to find some wheels I want. Ideally I'd love some Matterhorns, but they'd be upward of $1200 to get down here in Australia. So at best I'd be looking at some replica VW Type R units painted black.

BJ75 I have all the time in the world. I've managed to get a quote from a parts dealer here in Brisbane, but it's a little silly, so I can wait. What price do you think you may be asking when you land your new numbers? Send me a PM? Thanks!

Bud so it seems my car showed up with a set of matterhorns (car arrived with the reef pack)! I need to see this scratch on your spitzbergs.
