I just don't get it then, I've tried installing it on another phone, a 5S vs my 6S this time, and same result, does not show up as being a carplay capable app...

Skoda One App

So I've got a MY18 sportline, and whilst I've yet to find any options for customising it, the OneApp seems to work "OK". I often need to plug/unplug to get it going otherwise I get a "to get started please connect via USB or Wifi" message.
Which leads me to my next question, you guys are talking about Wifi and connecting to the cars hotspot, but I can't find any options to either connect the car to a WiFi network, or even better to have a mobile hotspot. The infotainment doesn't have a SIM slot.
Has anyone with the larger 'glass' screen system (discover pro/equivalent) got Wifi in their Superb? Seems to me like AU is very much an afterthought, can't even select it as a country when registering with Skoda Connect which I suppose is the purpose of having it.
I'd also very much like to get live traffic in the navigation which I assume needs wifi too.

My MY17 Superb has a Wi-Fi hotspot and the SkodaOne connects to the car using that. I have never used a USB cable.
Have you checked in the car manual?

I've checked the manual, it has a lot of things my car doesn't have, including any kind of wifi either as a hotspot or as a client. Must have been removed for MY18 along with the wireless phone charging and signal amplification. Not sure I'm missing out on that much if it doesn't depend on data connections for live traffic.
It doesn't show any traffic reports or messages, I figure if I get a VCDS cable and enable it I may receive these in the 'traffic' module as well as in the nav. Time to do some googling.

Yes, if you enable live traffic with VCDS you will receive traffic alerts and can see the various incidents in the traffic screen. Navigation will also consider delays reported via live traffic and update the routes accordingly. I have found this to be useful sometimes, but it's not that accurate.

i'd like that feature enabled.
I don't want traffic sign recognition.
I have an MY17.
regarding SkodaOneApp, 3 ways to use it:-
1. via USB cable, launch MirrorLink on the infotainment menu, and select SkodaOneApp.
this will show all the SkodaOneApp gauges and screen on the infotainment screen.
2. via the car's wifi (hotspot). make sure ur mobile is connected to it. launch SkodaOneApp on your mobile.
in this mode you can only see the SkodaOneApp gauges and screens on your mobile phone screen.
3. via the mobile's wifi (hotspot). make sure ur car is connected to it. launch SkodaOneApp on your mobile.
in this mode you can only see the SkodaOneApp gauges and screens on your mobile phone screen.
i'll get some screenshots for u later to show u how to connect the car to an external wifi/hotspot, or how to enable the car's hotspot.Last edited by dArK5HaD0w; 10-12-2017, 07:38 PM.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

I finally had a better go of this yesterday - after stuffing around for ages with USB cables and what not, I finally just activated the WLAN and hooked the car up to my phone. It connected magically all on its own. Mine is a MY16 if that helps anyone. Got some nice info, but not sure it's more useful other than just checking a few things once off. I'll have a better look when I get a chance.

i used it (skodaone app) here and there the first 3 months or so - now i can't b bothered faffing around with a USB cable, connecting it up via MirrorLink, just so i can see the gauges on the infotainment screen.
if only Android Auto and MirrorLink could work via bluetooth or wlan, instead of USB only!!!MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS
