  • Re - United.

Does anyone else think its time to re-unite the Skoda forum into one big happy family? I hardly ever come over here, and from the no. of posts on this and the Roomster/Yeti forum ,I think its hardly worthwhile having the 3 differant forums.

Combined with posts in irrelevant areas - yes, I preferred the one big happy family.

I mean, where do you put Fabia stuff or the yearly discussion on Skoda History, etc? meh, feels like I've just piddled into a southerly buster.

I can't stop You made my day.

It would be a good idea to give it a bit more time, though and you should take the vote.
Will see what we can do.

But there are already posts about Fabia & Yeti - the vehicles don't need to be for sale or have owners for people to have a discussion about them.

Skoda area seems to be very disjointed IMO.
eg: this thread in the Superb area - but where else could you put it?
Skoda meet-up (all Skodas I assume) in the Roomster section.
Skoda spotted in the Roomster section
Fabia stuff in the Roomster section (fair enough I guess - makes sense - all the non-existant/discontinued/unlaunched models. Maybe call it Purgatory instead)

So maybe what you're all really asking for is a 4th Skoda forum for "General Skoda Discussion"?

Nope, I think it's disjointed already. I liked it when we were all together.

Why? Other VAG models don't need it.
I can help Brad to find the way around.
Here is where people go when they want to meet; Clubs, Meets and Events
Similarly when you spotted another Skoda there is a section for it too and everybody else is happy with it. When we allow to have the Spoted thread in section it shouldn't be interpreted as need for The Octavia Spotted section. Similar goes for the threads created for the Audio in model sections. Don't get me wrong I have nothing about people having Audio, Spotted and similar threads in the model section but wouldn't want to see more than one such thread. Regarding misplaced posts Brad refers to; they could be equally in every section and when I decided to leave it where it is, then there is a reason for it.

Put it up for the vote and give it 3 months time for enough members to respond and disallow no Skoda members to vote in there. I liked the old set up too but it was a bit crowded and not easy to find information about Skoda models, partially because people didn't choose the right title for the threads they created.

                      Sure we do!

We've got the Clubs, Meets and Events secton, the General Discussion section, the Media Lounge and Interesting Articles section, and of course, the numerous subforums under the Specialist section.

If you Skoda guys are not using the above sections and instead putting these types of threads randomly into one of the Skoda car-sub-forums, such as brad describes, then maybe a "Skoda General Discussion" would help with that.

                      Anyway - it's just a suggestion.
I just don't want to see all the hours that the mods put into separating the forums be wasted in such a short period of time since having them separated.

The Skoda general discussion page would work fine. I think that was what people wanted all along when it was separated.

I'm only new here as potential future Yeti owner, but I support re-unification. I think we only need one Skoda forum to cover all models, not 3 or 4 sub-forums.

That has one disadvantage though; there is a time when we all looking for something related to one model and it would be all mixed up together and even if you use search function it would take much longer to find what you looking for.
