Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    DAB+ Radio

    Hi all,
    I have searched the Octarvia Forum for DAB+ Radio ... with no luck.
    Are we all sure that our Columbus Entertainment Units do NOT support DAB+ Radio ?
    I only seem to have FM or AM as a selection.. the Manual says otherwise...?

    Have you checked the forum for a VCDS hack?

        I don't believe the OZ Columbus has DAB+, i think it is hardware, not just a hack otherwise it would be on the Briskoda VCDS page, everything else is.

          There is no DAB+ radio receiver or decoder installed in AUDM Columbus units.
          2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
          1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
          1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.

            Phhhheeewwww ! Glad I wasn't going Insane.. DAB+ is ONLY an Australian iteration of the European DAB, so, yes its Definitely a Hardware thingy......

              It is odd that we don't get it really. I've driven cheapo hire cars from Mitsubishi and others that have it standard. It does drop out a hell of a lot here though.

                Had a customer with an A-Class come in complaining that theirs was next to useless, too!
                I'll try suss it out a little better when we get a demo with DAB+ (Top spec Fabia, mostly)

                  AFAIK, to enable DAB+ on the Columbus system requires a module and another antenna. Few places like VW Central can do it for you for around $300ish.
