Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Octavia Scout 2011 - Tyre Replacement

    Hi all (newbie here)
After almost 60,000 pleasant klms, I'm looking to replace the OE Dunlop Sport SP01 tyres on my Scout (225/50/R17 94W). What is everyone choosing? I'm looking for something of similar quality, handling and peformance.
    Thanks in advance.

PS - If any one happens to know when the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 will arrive in Australia, feel free to give me a heads up...

I went with Pirelli P1. Possibly not as good much more affordable. Drives fine on them.

I also went Pirelli (not absolutely sure of the model, but probably the same as Bob51) and I'm really impressed with them. I like to hammer (when I'm alone in the car on a nice twisty road) and I like good wet weather grip - these have been fab.
