    Goodbye Octy Family!

    It is with deep sadness and regret to inform you that I will be moving on my red MK2 Octy. It's been a fun-filled 3 years and I've learnt a lot about my car as it has with me... hopefully she will go to a new good owner... I'm trading it in, but if anyone wants to put in an offer before this Friday I'm happy to consider them.

    On the other hand, I'm staying in the VAG family with my Golf GTI Mk6 (newly acquired)

    Who knows, the MK3 might be on the cards if things pan out for me...

    Oh, no! Thats not good.
    Hopefully you'll end up with a Mk3.

      Just curious to know, why did you go with a Golf GTI and not the Octavia RS, considering it is cheaper for the same engine?

        I would've picked the GTI if it wasn't for Mini-Me (nothing wrong with him, he's awesome!)
        Even though it's same engine same everything, we drove them back to back and even my wife noted the GTI is much more 'fun' as a car. It has a more sporty ride, the sound is from the exhaust, car feels tight and nimble. With a lot less weight especially hanging out the back (we have the wagon) the GTI has a lot more traction.
        Having said that, I'm very grateful Skoda does offer this car, only other stick-shift manual wagons were the Commo SS and Renault Megane

          I have a mate at a VW dealership that had a ride (and a deal) I couldn't refuse... I might go back to the RS but I'm having too much fun at the moment! Don't get me wrong, the RS is great value but (and I know I'm gonna ruffle feathers when I say this) the GTI is way much more fun (to me) My RS served me well and was great when I had it...

              It should be more fun since it is a smaller and lighter car after all, but less practical with smaller boot. Not that you haven't noticed

              Long live the stick-shift ! It's a dying breed.
