Usually when its on the boat.. WhenI asked for the VIN, I Tracked mine from the Panama Canal, Aukland, Port Kembla ..Dealer.
The Dealer was surprised I could do that ????
A Scotts Man once told me, "The Best Glass to drink Scotch from,....... is one that doesn't Leak "
The VIN they know when it's about to get built. I had mine before it physically existed then it sat at the docks for a while. Depends on whether the dealer has more than a few brain cells or not really to know how to find out.
So... I have:
Vehicle ID
Chassis Number
Engine Number
and a few other bits, but not VIN, Can I use any of the above for tracking?
Also, what the website you guys use to the track cars?
Checkpoint Date was 14/09/16
Entry NADIN & Entry FAVAS (order dates?) was 15/08/16
Was told the status is "Import Transport" so I guess its on a boat
Isn't the vehicle ID the VIN? If you have that you can go to the ship site and enter it, it will give the itineraray. I saw the boat that dropped mine off in April there at the docks in Melbourne on Saturday with all the cars unloaded on the docks there.
It's probably sitting at the dock getting crapped on by seagulls. Mine missed the boat by a day so sat there on it's own for nearly a month until a heap of the first Superbs landing here came with it. It didn't show any info until the boat was on it's way and then showed all those details like when it arrived there etc. It loaded at Bremen though which was different to others. Usually they come on board in Belgium.
So.... WWL has it showing as ETD Zeebrugge (Belgium) on the 3/10 and ETA at Brisbane 16/11.
The tracker also has Quantity: 19, Is that how many Car are coming to Aus/Brisbane. Not that it matters, might be a few others with cars waiting for the same boat...
Whats the turn around time from when the car docks?
Dealer has said 3-4 weeks after. Is that a normal period of time, Or will they be trashing my new car?
Understand delays, but 4 weeks!
Week at the dock and a week at the dealer max?
Cheers
Hmm I can't recall exactly when the ship docked here, but from memory it was early April and was available for delivery around the 20th, they have to wait for import crap sometimes and customs as well as compliance. The dealer only got mine about 2 days before I did.

4 weeks sounds long, but I guess it is easier for them to say 4 weeks, and then have the car ready in 2.
I was just re-reading through my emails with the dealer. The car arrived on the 9th of August at the dock, was cleared and was sitting in the showroom 26th of August. We drove the car on the 27th, and picked it up almost a week later on Friday the 2nd of September.
Some dealers like to have your car sitting around for a little bit, just to show customers what it can look like etc. Ours had every option ticked (19's, tech pack, black pack, comfort pack, sunroof, leather seats, KESSY etc, moon white metallic paint) so as to try and entice customers second guessing getting a few more options...which works supposedly as two orders were placed on the exact specs of our car between the 27th and when we picked it up on the 2nd.
But hopefully not too long now! It will be exciting to finally drive your car I am sure!
