    One more vote for isofix........
No one sits in the middle seat. I give them a good rock to make sure the car shakes, not the seat. BTW, when I was looking you would illegally be installing a foreign sourced isofix seat. I'm not saying its more or less safe, just that I wasn't going to illegally install a seat.

I'm using an iso fix car seat which I bought from a European site. I don't give a rats about the domestic standards, so I'm not going to debate that issue (there are changes happening in the Australian domestic standards space anyway).

Pm me if you want to know more.

You'll notice that as Australia abandons local manufacture the ADRs are being re-written to say "must comply with these international standards" rather than a self-prescribed standard.
          Proof for point 1?

Harmonisation for ADRS has been occurring for 20yrs. Most ADRs have a suitable substitute reg that can be used (UNECE or US Regs)

Finally the EU is mandating top tether attachment points like AUS/NZ and the USA/Canada. So Europe will finally follow the rest of the world with top tether seats.

Then other point is that Australia/NZ have decided on ONE ISOfix standard for car seats here. In the the EU there are three. And if you get the wrong seat it may not fit your car

It seems Australalian law is actually closer to the harmonisation target than some assume. All European cars built since 2013 are required to fitted with an top tether anchorage points if designed for isofix , the other alternative is isofit which uses rails & the cars own seat belt to restrain the child. As such euro regulations ECE R14 & R16 make it MANDATORY for isofix seats to use the top tether in post 2013 cars! US NHSTA 49 CFR parts 571 & 596 makes it compulsory for new cars to have 3 attachment (2 in base 1 top tether) points independent of the seatbelts, and to harmonise with EU,Canadian and Australian regulations.

The one I have is a Britax Safe-n-sound Trufix. Fits really well and doesn't move around like our previous baby seat with just seatbelt attachments.

^what you mentioned about the movement above is the biggest mistake people make. You can use blue clips from infasecure or gated buckles on the lap part to stop that.

Yeah better not start another big discussion, but my 7yr old was harnessed until a year back and she is tall. Our 4.5yr old is tall and will be and we don't have the newer ones like the Evolve that harness up to 8. Our oldest is going to be a pain, she doesn't meet the height or 5 step test to sit out of a seat but is fast getting too tall for her booster which is the tallest you can get.
