I forgot about that button, that's the easiest way to know. Alarm is something they drop in and out at times.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

It's not very obvious in these cars, but if you have the alarm button on the driver side b pillar, then you have an alarm. you'll also notice the ultrasonic senors infront of the sunglass holder.

Fitted as an option on my 2011 vRS. Has the button on the b pillar, which disables the interior motion and tow-away detection.
The alarm doesn't use the horn but has its own sounder. Sounds like many other car alarms with that high pitched sort of wew wew wew noise. I found this out when one corner of my windscreen sun screen fell down (dodgy suction cups)!MY 22 Superb Sportline Wagon. Moon White.
