Has anyone had any issues with paint quality / fit & finish?

Just some things I have noticed on my RS.

I'm emailing them to the dealer tonight to see what they can do. Pretty sure it is covered under warranty.

I've attached some photos of the following:

1) front left fender tip - small black mark (under clear coat) from factory.

2) rear left passenger door hinge - scratches / marks on hinges at the factory.

3) rear left passenger door hinge - paint missing. looks like the hinge was moved after painting at the factory.

4) rear right passenger door hinges - no scratches / marks on hinges and no paint missing (for comparison).

5) front right fender tip - no small black mark (for comparison).


Please share your thoughts.

I've got a black mark on the boot of my wagon under the clear coat which looks like a strand of hair. It's so minute, I've left it. But with all the other stuff I would definitely be letting the dealer know and also follow up with Skoda AU if the response is slow. There have been reports of issues with the paint work on certain batches.

Dealer has called me and they're going to fix it all. Woohoo!!

Good news!

Don't want to be a downer but maybe you can find out where they are sending it to get fixed and see if the paint shop is reputable ... I have seen some cars come back worse for wear on a US Focus ST forum - not saying yours will - because the dealer clearly didn't give a #### about their customer i.e. other parts of the car got scratched and colour not matched properly (whole panels needed to be resprayed and rubber trims were damaged on removal etc.)

Personally I wouldn't worry about the inside of the door but the blob on fender would pi55 me off !

Just dropped the car off at the dealers to have the minor paint issues fixed.

Let us know how you go getting your paint issues sorted out.
I've noticed a couple of minor paint issues... but not sure yet if it's worth getting anything done about them. Only problem is once you know they're there.. your eye just gets drawn to it... hmmm

Got the car back this afternoon. Door hinges are about 90% fixed. Cannot be perfect without removing door and full respray/blend...which i dont want. Front black dot...just put a dab of paint on in...no clear coat... I think ill do that myself. Its only minor now and i can live with it. I dont want to be without my RS anymore.

Glad you got your RS back.. I'm not going to bother with my minor paint issues.. like you, I can't bear to be without my RS either...
