Some people like that kind of pampering. When i dropped off my dad's merc for a service in parramatta it was very pampering too. Felt awkward in my shorts and t-shirt. Lol

If they want a process to stick to, its the pre-delivery one so I don't have to come back. I understand some people love the reveal drama, but I'd told them all through the process I knew what I wanted and just wanted to get out of there as someone was baby sitting my kid 150km away. After arguing all the way through, the sales girl actually said "make sure you tell them I showed you the service dept". Why the F... would I care about seeing the service dept????

Actually the new Audi/Skoda workshop for Richmond now has a fridge full of stuff and a lounge full of pretentious Audi owners. They always had a coffee machine etc, but I value getting my car, being told what's done and then getting out as quick as I can over being in there. The new Eastside Skoda is right near my house, but really wish a better dealer franchise had opened than them. Their servicing guys are all going to be novices, at least Richmond Skoda had people with Audi/VW backgrounds to start with.

They all want to show you the service area now as they want to keep the money flowing in. It will likely be mentioned in a survey you get. I was shown it with my Hyundai, but the fact the girl didn't notice the fresh door ding in my car (They had it out in the forecourt with all the display models right up against one), the fact it was covered in dirt as it had rained on it that morning. And the best one was that there were still spiderwebs in the grill from whereever it had been kept so whatever detailing had been done was crap anyway. Also they didn't have the money ready for my tradein so left behind a spotless car for them with no paperwork or cash in hand. They then had the cheek to ask that I rate them highly on the survey that never came.

I was hoping Richmond were going to move into the bigger Audi space, but alas that is for the Lambos...

I had the car for almost a week now so I thought I might write up a little review.

The car only done 11km when I took delivery, and done 200km since, the drivetrain still feel very very tight, I have been using S and M mode 95% of the time, trying to vary the revs and have done many hard in gear accelerations (to around 4k to 5k) and enging braking. WOT in 2nd gear is so sensational, I have used every chance to do that, the torque available for this 3rd Gen EA888 is amazing, even for a stock car.

I like this car alot and I liking it more and more everyday.

when i picked mine up back in 2010 at lennock skoda, it was under a green felt, for a big reveal, on the showroom floor.
covers lifted, pic with the general manager, 20 min one on one with dealer explaining everything inside and outside of the car, then driven off the showroom floor.

heard they don't do it anymore though.....

That's a beautiful beast, sad they don't do the yellow no more. and there was no green felt for me, car was sitting in the showroom beautifully, the sales person did offer me a coffee, turned out the coffee machine in Skoda was out of order,so he grabbed a coffee for me from Audi next door(they are also Audi dealer). so aside from an 'Audi' coffee, I received no gifts.

Hope all the paint issues get sorted for you.. I've noticed some minor issues on mine but it it's on the inside lip of the rear wheel arches.. not easy to see. So I'm not sure if I could part with the car to get it fixed...

I do have some really minor paint issues too, but for me, if it's not likely to affect the resale value in many years time, then it is not worth bring in to a dealer.

When I collected my Ambition wagon last year in Adelaide I was treated to the full reveal and briefing so no complaints about the sales service provided by Solitaire Skoda in Adelaide. Pity my wife was unable to take time off work to come too, she loves that sort of theatrical flourish.

its sad that vw aus decided not to allow oz customers the choice of yellow with the new mk3.
skoda still offers, elsewhere, sprint yellow with the mk3
the yellow and green are now the only two remaining colors that r unique to the mk3 RS.

                            That is velvet

Felt is what they use to make Akubra hats and externally cover Mongolian yurts

Just a pedant. A velvet jacket was pretty cool in the 80s. A felt jacket didn't have the same impact
