Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

After spending the day driving down the Great Ocean Road and around the Otways can anyone tell me how to wipe this grin off my face?

Apologies for the spurious post, but first weekend of ownership is proving a great one. I thought people had oversold it, but it's big enough to be loaded up with mountain bike + gear while still being way too fun to drive. I say "too fun" only cause I did zero biking today. Still, there are worse parts of the world to spend time exploring.

Sorry, but you are probably stuck with the grin.

7 years / 150,000km and I still look forward to driving mine. One of the best cars (and there's been 30+ so far) I've had in the driveaway.

          I thought I had a fair total with 16. !
Still deciding if "best" (On a par so far with Subie) applies to mine yet but it's fantastic. A really refined drive around town with plenty of funs to be had elsewhere. Haven't missed awd yet although the slight torque steer reminds me of 80's "hot hatches"

My 3.0RB Subaru was a better car to drive but it was over 25% more to buy. The value for money of the RS is superior though. If I get more than 20000km out of the first engine it will be more reliable too.

I remember that feeling every single time I got into my RS - even the very last time I drove it.

So guess what? Straight back to another Skoda when I return home!

The new petrol one is awesome too and I'd personally rate it over a GTI. If you need a deal on one let me know.
