Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Capped Price Service Issue

    Went to get a 15,000k service on my Octavia but the dealer informed me they "don't do capped price servicing" because it was "too expensive" though they sold me the car with capped price servicing and their name is on the capped price servicing list. The price they quoted me was higher than capped servicing for my car the last time I checked ($286), though that was in force up to Jan 15. The dealer quoted $294. They then suggested a tyre rotation. This would have taken the price to at least $354.

    Now I cannot locate any capped price servicing info on the Skoda website at all so I'm not sure if I was charged more than the cap or less. Looks like there is no cap anymore or maybe I just can't find it.

    Is this strange behaviour because of the recent KIA case where the court deemed that Capped Price Servicing should be capped from date of purchase? No Cookies | Herald Sun

      Thanks, tried it but you can't enter car details on a cached page.

        It works for me. I just use the drop down to select the model, engine etc and this is populated

          OK working now. It was $286 to 28thFeb 2015 so its no longer current. Nothing for after Feb 28th. and only on cached website as far as I can tell.

            Its only $8 dearer Dont get the tyre rotation I never do its a Have anyway cos they take the wheels off to check brake wear.

              True but they told me they were cheaper than the the cap which is why they don't use capped price servicing. Since there is no up-to-date listing on the Skoda website, I still dont know what current rates are. Its not about the money its about the possibility that Skoda dealers have dumped CPS even though it was sold with the car.

                If they dump capped priced servicing, i'll be onto an independant so fast it wont be funny. I had the rs serviced by prestige performance, and Jmac on the forums also has an excellent wrap!

                The only reason I was considering dealer service was the capped price was quite reasonable, and if you have an issue after warranty, the dealer is more likely to act on a car that has been serviced by the dealer, without waving australian consumer law at them.

                  Yeah its definitely better to have had dealer services if you have a warranty issue. My issue is that Skoda has removed Capped Price Servicing info from its website and my dealer has now opted out of the scheme and I have purchased a car with Capped Price Servicing as a feature. So where does that leave owners?
