  • vRS Spotted - Are owners on here?

    I enjoy car spotting.
Whenever I'm interested in buying a particular car, I enjoy looking out for them on the road.

Will look to pick up a MkII vRS in the next 3-5 months or so, but for some reason I never see many on Sydney roads ever since I got interested.

    There are 2 I always see ..

Two at work .. (26 Talavera Road, North Ryde)
One in my company's car park, one in the outside carpark.
Both are wagons, one white and one black.

Then one across my street in Epping.
    Also white wagon.

Wondering if the owners on this forum?

I swear I didn't know Octavias even existed about a month before we bought ours, now I see a lot of them. Very subtle looking car (which is a good thing!)

nup! complete opposite, anthracite sedan with 19s. mostly looks and sounds stock, which is probably why you don't notice it.

completely agree, which is some of the reason why I bought it. don't like being hassled by the police. they don't even look at me in the Octavia, but I still have fasts and slows

                Only been pulled over once...

Been taken to the side at an RBT and asked to pop the bonnet too but both times nothing came of it.

                            Thanks

I had the Enki wheels painted the same colour as the car (with a big brake kit behind them)

                            Carbon wrapped the roof racks

Lots of carbon wrap inside also

A lot of us have stage 1 or 2 tunes - it's a but more tricky and costly for the diesel

                              It scares small children.

The TDI125 ECU needs to be unlocked - I had a good experience with VW Village in Kensington for my Revo tune. They don't like doing Stage 2 though - DPF removal.

Not true - Stage 1 (Revo as an example)
                              $150 for unlock
                              $799 (or $899?) for tune

                              Stage 2 = +$49 ($99?) for difference.
Petrol requires change of downpipe (+$400-$1,000), diesel only requires removal of DPF so stock downpipe can be reused.
