Mk III towbar

Looks like the Octavia III towbar may be available soon . There is now one listed on the bestbars.co.nz website. Considering they are OEM in OZ, or at least are for the Superb, I can only assume it will be OEM for the Octavia III as well.

My dealer has confirmed it's now available as I'd included it on the order for my new Octavia wagon. There seems some confusion about the design though as they're being told it's a 'swan-neck' design rather than a conventional flat bar type (I need the latter to be able to put my bike rack onto).

According to their workshop guy though, the ones in the past have been described as swan-neck but actually turned out to be conventional! We've got one on order and will see when it arrives (backup plan is to fit an after-market one but still use the official Skoda wiring harness).

John down at Peninsula said he was just waiting on pricing a week ago when i picked my Octavia up, Guessing around $1350 fitted. If it is the Best Bars one and probably is, their (bestbars.co.nz) website describes it as a Titan hitch which i would guess to be the same as the Titan vertical hitch I had on my Superb. It's a flat tongue fitted to a vertical receiver hitch. Towbars

FYI - John also quoted me that price when we originally spoke, but I ended-up ordering with Brighton who used the same figure.

I thought they came pre-wired now ( tow bar presentation in the brochure). - $1350 sounds ridiculously expensive.
