Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The number plate bulbs are $53!!!! It's way cheaper to go through Superskoda!!! $13 Euro = AUD$19 including free shipping!!!

I do have to say though, I've never understood why you would want to make your number plate so bright that it could be seen from the moon? What's the point?
There are other brands sold by Blingwork, say Konik for AUD 17.99 for number plate LED. Besides, this company has an actual shop front and the guy said I could bring the vehicle in to make sure I am buying the correct bulba and that they work.

I could not find any $13 Euro bulbs on Superskoda for Octavia MK3, the only ones that I saw were replacement kit for the number plate and boot lights and they are like $35 / $40 Euros... And even then, does Superskoda tell you what brand they are? They could also be generic.

And having bright number plate light is personal perference, personally they look good on the Audi / VW with the white led lights. Also for cars with rear camera the LEDs may actually provide extra lights on the the road at the back. May I ask, what's the point of black / grey cars? White cars can be clearly seen during day and night, so for safety reason, all car should be white?

The problem is that various manufacturers look for different resistance levels - BMW is different to VW etc
2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels

I think that's why it would be good to actually be able to take the car in, put the lights in and find out whether the bulb works or not.
