  • 2014 Octavia Wheels in Melbourne?

    Hi guys,

I've just bought a 2014 Octavia Elegance TDI Wagon and I'm not in love with the standard wheels.

The Skoda 18" Turini Wheels in black look awesome but I'm finding them very difficult to source.

The TSW Nurburgring in Black also look good as a compromise but would probably cost around the same $
TSW Alloy Wheels Australia - NURBURGRING Alloy Wheels

Has anyone had a good experience with finding wheels in melbourne? I'm a newbee and I don't really want to pay more than I have to.

I'd like to find wheels in black similar to these in the same tyre size as the stock Elegance wheel. 18 x 7.5 to avoid buying new tyres

The TSW Nurburgrings are a good choice - quality product at a reasonable price. Just make sure you shop around to get the best price, shouldn't be more than around the $2k mark. Importing is possible but can't see any cost savings to be had on this wheel at the moment.

Keep in mind the Nurburgrings are 18 x 8 ET45; the x 7.5 model doesn't come in a 5x112 PCD - but your tyres should still be fine to swap over (I assume you are running 225/40s).

You could also consider some similar mesh designs like the Enkei Raijins (also 18 x 8 ET45) and Neuspeed RSE12s (same again).

No problems - they are what I'd call the reasonably priced branded/quality options.

There will be PLENTY of mesh replicas both locally and overseas. I'd recommend spending a little extra and getting a decent wheel however.

Excuse my ignorance but it is "mesh" a name for that style of wheel?

I'm using that term loosely I guess.

The best example is the HRE P40: P40 Series - P40 | HRE Performance Wheels

Best not to ask the price unfortunately.

Yes I've seen the p40 series. Very nice, haven't dared to ask price wise.

I don't think anything is nicer than the turinis though

You could also be considering the TSW Mallory or Brooklands depending on the number of spokes.

If you like more of the spoke design then you could also look at the OZ Superturismos as well (I'm biased as I had them on my last car).

i'm keen on set of turinis too - to a point i might have a chat to my dealer to see whats the best price he can do to bring in a set of 4 rims.
i can swap the existing tyres on my neptune over.

my other option would be a set up VMR V709 rims.....i've got a feeling these might end up being cheaper than the dealer sourced turunis!!

VMR are reasonable reps, but I believe these only come in 19 inch - which wont meet the OPs requirement. At x8.5 ET45 I don't know how they'd go fitment wise on a Skoda either.. I recall Martin plumped for his Enkei Raijins because they were x8 and were a better fit.

I'd be surprised if they cost more than the Turinis though - pretty sure these would be horribly overpriced like a lot of OEM supplied wheels.

FWIW, theres a Czech Skoda shop selling at $200AUD/wheel - obviously freight and duties/taxes potentially come into play but that might be a cheaper alternative.

My dealer finally found some Turinis and can deliver them fitted this week. $2000 maybe a bit exy but I figure I might safe $500 now but have sub par wheels. Also genuine wheels will sell better when we look to trade again. Now to sell my stockies

Yep, rims only. As the stock tyres fit the new wheels, so it includes fitting also

2000 is a pretty good price for OEM rims from the dealer.

I sent you a PM regarding another option. Let me know if your keen. looking for a lot less than the stealership
