Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi All, Just purchase version 7 maps and just wondering before I install them, is it worth upgrading the firmware from 4024 to 4120. Unit Specs; HW: H64 SW 4024 3T035680B

4024 ??????? was a 4020 and no you probably shouldn't on a B model unless the Skoda ones are differently numbered

This is the thread to post in and get a reply to suit

Sorry if I posted to the wrong area. Mods, please move to appropriate area, thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Hillbilly. Yes the firmware is 4024 (as per pic). So unless the dealer or Skoda has played with the firmware, thats how it came with the vehicle.

      Cheers

firmware xxx4 series is for skodas.

I've got the same part number as you Fourwinds , but with an older HW-version. I've been running firmware 4124 for quite a while now - i.e. when it was released.

the newer 5xxx firmware gives no added features as I don't have a DAB tuner in mine, so i'm not upgrading the firmware.
I did however upgrade to v7 maps.
