Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • OPS parking wire routing

Got the front & rear parking sensor kit. Rear went in ok. Wires routed up the left side of the car. Wondering if anyone knows where the front wire goes through the firewall? There's a spot down behind the battery. Any other suggestions?

Very hard cutting neat holes. I used an Irwin forstner bit (I think thats what they're called). Then cleaned it up with a Dremel sander bit and touch up paint. Holes ended up slightly too big and not perfectly round.

Also got a Tiguan style boot catch/camera which I can't put in yet as it requires cutting the hole larger (can do that though it's nerve wracking), can't find the connector for the boot lock which is different. Also need the backing/mounting cup for the rear of it- probably have to make one.

Fopund some Briskoda threads which helped

Not stuck with OPS / PDC installation - all fitted now. - Skoda Octavia II (2004 - 2013) - BRISKODA.net - The Skoda Forum and Community

Managed to push the cable through the main firewall spot behind the glovebox (after cutting a small hole from inside the engine bay).

Beepers for the parking sensors go - left had B pillar, and if you take out the small top dash compartment, just down to the right of this, inside the dash, there is a spot with two holes ready (I used zip ties to hold them on).

There are Can HI & Can low wires to connect. Most people say to connect to the can gateway under the right side dash.
