  • Melbourne Servicing

    Hey all,

Looking at getting the 60k service done on my MY11 vRS manual. Has anyone here used Volkshome VW Service, Volkswagen Service, VW Restorations, Melbourne, Thomastown up in Thomastown?

Spoken to them and they seem switched on, any other recommendations? I know Volkstech seems to get a good wrap too. I need somewhere that I can easily get a train into the city and preferably on the west/north side.

    Cheers,

    Russ.

$450 or thereabouts from Volkshome, that was for a 2wd though.

I have used auto union deutch at oakleigh for 7 years. They know their VAG cars. Lender car if you book early enough and close to train station. Not north/west though.

Just took my RS in for its first 5k oil change.

What's their pricing like? My RS is due for it's 30K service and I'm not too keen to try Skoda's dealership network again. Took it to Lance Dixon in Doncaster last time and I don't think it's there anymore, plus when I looked at the maintenance report it listed something do with diesel injector's and it's got a TFSI engine!

Pricing at Auto Union is fair. Labour not ridiculous as at dealerships, but they do have to make a living out of the business. Timing belt change on A4 1.8 T and A3 1.9TDI both under $1000. Did the belt change on the A3 with 45k (4yrs) service as well, and total was $1350ish. I think Audi wanted that on its own for the belt change.

They do have a policy of using Audi oil for oil changes on cars still under warranty. The 5k oil change on the RS was $75 plus 5L of Audi oil. They do this just to be sure there can never be any argument about warranty issues with manufacturers.

They have never tried to rip me off, at the last 60k service on the A3 I was told about 5k kms left on the front brakes and 8k on the rear. If that had of been Audi it would have been, "the front brakes are worn out and need replacing, and the rears are just about done too, so you should do those while we have the car." Being informed about the car, I know I can get about 6-9months yet out of the A3's brakess, or until the disc sensor comes on, and I should probably do the rears at the same time.

Lender cars are free, just book ahead, but the fuel you use is not. It is an honour system where you put back in what you use.

Well I ended up using Volkshome. Great people, did a great job and they don't charge silly prices. Dropped me off and picked me up from the train station to which is handy.

                          Definitely recommend them.

Hi all. Currently done 10k and will be hitting the 15k service likely during a huge driving holiday in March where I expect to do about 3-4000 km. Better off getting the 15k service done early at say 13k? And can anyone advise if the 15k service has a defined window like between 14k and 16k km?

Or does it not matter, and I just take it in whenever?
