Hey all,
Earlier this year, I started having problems with my RS including the following:
1. A clunking sound and a jolt dropping into and coming out of 1st gear
2. more than usual engine vibrations
3. Frequent stalling (both flat ground and on hills)
4. complete loss of power from standing start, followed by a jolt back into gear
I've just had my 60K service done where I reported these problems. They acknowledged there was a problem with the DSG, so they suggested I do a DSG service to hopefully fix the problems, and give it a few weeks, then bring it back if not... which cost me an extra $732, so it ended up being $977 service, but unfortunately the problems are still there.
I took it back to them a few weeks later and they totally shafted me, saying do not acknowledge that there had ever been any problems with the DSG, the guy I dealt with no longer works there, and they had no documentation to back up my claim other than the receipt for the DSG service which was at my request??!?!? WTF?
They now claim that it is a problem with torque arm insert, to which they are willing to remove at a cost of, wait for it, $475!!! ($85 for parts and the rest for labor).
I've had the insert in for almost 2 years now and tighten it every 5,000kms if need be, so it might just be a greasing issue.
Has anyone had any similar problems?
I've taken the matter to Skoda HQ and they are sending me to get it looked at by another dealer. The problem is that I'm out of warranty as of last week so I have to foot the bill if it all goes pear shaped.
I'll keep you posted on the findings.
