Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I have the hardest available torque arm insert in my claky, vibrating diesel. It was so bad for the first 1,000km but calmed right down.
Idle was just like how I would imagine a V8 supercar would be - horrible and just... Racecar!

Reverse is still bad, but as long as you get the revs above idle the vibes go away.
Of course, having the manual helps a lot.

With the insert in, my TDI M6 is quicker than a TSI DSG6
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
    1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
    1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
    Not including hers...

So here are some current pics of the car... Looks so much better in person tho...

Whiteline adjustable rear swaybar - set on medium
Torque arm insert from dub addiction - I am going to remove this as vibrations are just a bit more than desired

                Bluefin tune - Stage 2
                Plastidipped front grill black

                      Very nice!

How hard was the torque arm insert to do? Simple job?

As far as im told, it is easy to do as it goes into a void underneath, then you use the bolt and washer supplied to fasten it in. My mechanic did it for me when he installed my suspension but he said its a simple job... just gotta get under the car...

Yeh its alot better now than when first installed (apparently takes a couple tanks to sort it self out..... I still get the odd misfire here and there so im hoping the R8 coil packs will help that out - if not, i'll just go back to tigersoft performance and they will work something out... 2nd and 3rd gear just wants the car to fly... heaps more power...

Yep I have the DSG.... would love this in manual tho... would be so much better to drive...
