Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The rubber is a little too stretched for my liking. they are 235 x 35 so ill change for 245 x 35 when I have another $1200 to spend. Probably $1500 as I want continentals.
Just check whether that will make much difference to any rub issues if/when you decide to lower.. I know it makes quite a difference on the Golfs when going from 225 to 235 etc; the Octavia step up might be 235 to 245.. but you'll be in the best position to judge based on how it is sitting in reality.. and whether you have pesky front screws to deal with.

ill know in a few months, cant afford to lower it right now, and id rather replace the rubber than lower it. but when I do, ill post back in here

I don't mind the brake dust, tells me I should be washing the car more frequently

ive decided on a superskoda lip, but thanks ill check out that website!

EDIT: that website doesn't appear to exist

That's the link I meant!! Yeah it's just stick on but looks pretty good for the $$$. I got my h n r springs from Germany for 274 landed!! Now I'm not too good at getting links right but I'm pretty sure it was orange speed . I'm using the std shocks at this stage(bn bout 3 months) and so far so good(50mm lowered)
