Another one gone..

Penfold has been looking pretty closely at them for one around Burwood way. They last told me they couldn't open one while the Doncaster one was around so hopefully they think about it. There are a lot of Skodas out this way, the Fern tree gully dealer and the Doncaster ones were too far away from what has to be a prime area. Even the Ringwood stretch might do well.

Blacktown Trivett has let go of their Skoda 'office'.

I feel partly responsible😉 I dithered over several circa 10000km Superb Ambitions which crossed the lot over about 9 months listed around $30k. Next I knew they were gone. Glad I'm a procrastinator. Finished up with a 5000km Elegance for 25k😁

I know this isn't about Skoda, but its about another marginal selling Euro car - Peugeot.

There are very few Peugeot Dealers in Sydney. None close by to service anyway. What Peugeot have done is certified certain independent service centres for Peugeot (and citroen) service and warranty work.

Thought it a bit strange (and concerning) to start with but it is actually great. The service provided is great (as per manufacturer specific independents) and all warranty work is covered. And its 20min walk from my home.

Perhaps Skoda should move down that path. A few well located Dealerships for sales... then servicing also covered by selected VW dealers. It would increase new car margins to few dealers and provide the access to servicing customer want

They make more money out of servicing a car than selling it. So can't see that happening.

Actually Skoda do have certified VW dealers around, I know Bundaberg that is the case. When they first started up the intention was to use the VW dealer network to do exactly that. There used to be more, but in regional areas it is definitely the case, check the Skoda website for dealers/service centres. I know when Richmond Audi/Skoda opened they found Skoda were more strict with things than even Audi so maybe that turned off some places. Originally they insisted they import the special Skoda hoists and all.

It's a shame, especially since Trivett moved closer to the hospital. They had a nice spot on Sunnyholt with plenty of visibility, but now they've got lovely showrooms and nobody visiting… hence they're now Alto.

We're in Kings Langley. Candy White 118TSI sedan. We have been overseas for a few months and not driven Blacktown Rd for some time. When did Alto take over the Trivett site?

I'm over at parklea. They were taken over earlier this year from what I was told.

My dad bought a demo Tiguan off them during their last sale at their sunnyholt lot, which was sometime late last year from what I remember. They didn't stay Trivett very long on Blacktown road :/
