I've got two marks, one I think was accidental but seems deeper than the clear coat. The second was a few wks later and I think was a shallow keying. Again don't know what to do. Both are long and obvious on a black mica on both doors.....I'm guessing a respray....as I don't think it's shallow enough to polish out.

depending on where you are, JPLs Motor Body Repairs in Gladesville.

They have worked on both my cars and the rest of my family's also. Great work and great to deal with!

Got 2 qoutes today one was $2800 and the other $1700, The tight ass company i work for is refusing to pay even though it states in our EBA that there must be secure parking. The union is fighting the matter. $1100 excess if i go with insurance

I'd be surprised if the fight got to far, 'secure parking' clause or not. That sucks though.. I don't get why people feel the need to do rubbish like that. So long as your no claim bonus isn't effected then at least your 'liability' is capped at the excess which is well under both quotes - may as well get the best job done.

You will fall back 1 rating for the claim, so add 5% next year, then you will have the claim adding another 3-5% to the base premium for the next 3 to 5 years, depends on insurer. Rating 1 for life would change this, but you will still have the claim on history affecting the base premium.

So take your current premium get 5% multiply by 4, add excess. This is the number the claim must be over to break even.

            Example, rough numbers
            $700 premium 5% = $35.
$35 loss of rating. $35 for 3 years on base premium
            $140 + $600 excess
            $740

            $1800 premium
            $90 x4 + $1100 excess
            $1460

You can always ask your insurer what the new premium would be, or play around with online quotes.

The guys I've trusted for years are Hume Smash Repairs in Lansvale.
Extremely anal and car enthusiasts too.
They've repaired my wife's vrs when it was rear ended as well as a couple of full bare metal resprays to a hail damaged car of mine and my sons recent purchase.
