  • Spot the difference!

A while ago I posted some pics of my Octy with the new window tints. I got some nice comments about the look of the car then and I wanted to post a couple of photo's of the car today in roughly the same position to see if anyone can spot the difference, now that I've finally got 'something' just the way I want it

I think it will take a keen eyed observer.... heres a hint:

And another... its not the fogs or the eyelids that btw - they are too obvious!

You got it - I finally found a set of the same style wheels with a better offset for a wider stance

The blokes at the tyre shop thought I was mad - come in with a set of wheels in the boot the same as the ones on the car, and ask them to swap the tyres over . They have a point I reckon, but for me, I'm finally happy with the stance

SWEET stoked i got that... i could tell something was up with the rears in particular

looks like my hours of wheel fantasizing has paid off!

just curious though, were they still oem wheels with a different offset? (I'm assuming those wheels that may have come off from the A3's and the A4's are different)

Yeah, these are OEM but they are S-line rims as opposed to the normal ones. Close up they are quite different, but from far away they are identical.

I think they are even made in a different country! These are ET45, the old rims are ET56.

I'm surprised the grass looks even close to similar given the changei n the seasons between the before and after pics

Thanks - I keep looking at the car today and appreciating that extra 11mm... in the flesh it makes all the difference.

It took me a bit but I saw it - then scrolled down and saw Cbay already guessed!!

Looks much better now, I reckon.

What width / diameter? I had 17x8ET35 on mine for a year & the poke at the front really annoyed me. Rear was perfect.

17x7.5.... that would mean your old 8's were poking another 6mm or so on top of my current amount, which at the front is not quite flush.

Just popped the specs into my tyre/wheel spreadsheet & 8"ET35 is ~16mm more outward poke than 7.5"ET46 & ~4mm more clearance off the strut. Very sexy at the rear end, very bogan at the front
