(Well, got the 7 speed DSG clutch pack done...and I made it back from the dealership without any shudders, so far so good!)

Anyway, I've changed my mind of course. What I'm looking at now is Borbet LV5 18" in Anthracite...I know it's not black, but I really like the design. Hopefully it'll be dark enough to make a good contrast.

I've been quoted $1782 US for wheels ($756 US) and Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres ($548 US) delivered to my door.
I'm now trying to get my head around customs, etc. which I believe kicks in over $1000.
I don't mind paying it, but don't really want things held up...maybe order tyres from elsewhere, etc...

    Any thoughts on these wheels?

I love them!! What colour is your car?...

Can't go wrong with anthracite, I reckon!

        Yeah, me too!

My car's cappuccino beige. It's a fairly silvery/grey version of beige, especially in dull light.

Love the look of those wheels!

If your order is over $1000 including shipping, you can get hit for GST and other fees. In this case, it might be worth ordering the tyres and wheels separately, even if you get charged for 2 lots of shipping.

When buying over the internet but see note on multiple packages.

Thanks for that, that's really helpful...
Hmmm, I might get them to revise the quote without tyres, and order those from elsewhere.

Perfect. If you get the OEM black roof rails they look anthracite from most angles anyway

Well I sent the order for the Borbet LV5 18" wheels today, as my birthday present to myself

I'm going to get the tyres locally I think, as I'll have to go somewhere to get them fitted balanced etc anyway.
Can anyone in Brisbane recommend somewhere decent?

Then finally I can get some pics up!
Then I think I'll lower it a bit with Eibach pro kit springs, then chip it

I'll keep posting updates as things progress, as it was great for me to have all of your threads to go through - some very nice cars out there!

                      Finally!!

So, after what feels like forever I finally have everything fitted...

                      - Borbet LV5 18" x 8 wheels
                      - Continental Contisportcontact 5 225 40 r18 tyres
                      - Eibach Prokit lowering springs
                      - Tintacar Octane tint

I'm very happy with the results, the anthracite wheels look really nice close up, in my opinion.
Thanks very much for all your help guys, really appreciated!!

                          Looks great!

I like the wheels because they look classy and give it a kind of 'enhanced OEM' look.

Unfortunately I only have the stock 16" tyres to compare to, but the grip is fantastic by comparison.
Between the new wheels, tyres, and the lowered suspension, cornering is a lot more fun now and feels safer.
Of course the ride is much harder too, but I expected that!

Thanks very much, that's exactly the look I was going for. I wanted it to look almost as though you could have optioned them.
