Hi all, had my 147tsi 45k service at a Skoda dealer on Saturday and noticed this evening on the service report oil is described as 507 TDI L/life. Is this the mother of all stuff ups or is there a logical explanation and nothing for me to worry about? Regardless ill be calling them tomorrow for their version...

VW 504.00/507.00 is a dual-rated lubricant, designed to be used in both petrol and diesel engines.
Most VW oil standards tend to be dual-rated, including 502.00/505.00, 503.00/506.00, and so on.
Note that VW will not approve or release a lubricant that only passes either the petrol (504.00) or diesel (507.00) criteria. EDIT - hence you will never find a lubricant on the market that only meets either spec.Last edited by Diesel_vert; 04-03-2013, 08:33 PM.

If anything, diesel spec 507 is a higher purity, as it must have less ash to keep the DPF happy, and higher sheer properties for the higher compression and pressure parts.2014 Skoda Yeti TDI Outdoor 4x4 | Audi Q3 CFGC repower | Darkside tune and Race Cams | Darkside dump pDPF | Wagner Comp IC | Snow Water Meth | Bilstein B6 H&R springs | Rays Homura 2x7 18 x 8" 255 Potenza Sports | Golf R subframe | Superpro sways and bushings | 034 engine mounts | MK6 GTI brakes |
