Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Does anyone with a base model Octavia wagon want my RS Springs?

If anyone with a base model Octavia wagon would like my Genuine RS springs, just PM me. It would lower the base model to the standard RS height I reckon?

I have installed the 20mm Eibach springs...and love them so much!

    Only after a few dollars...

    Cheers

What's the cost of putting springs in?

Not sure if this is going to be a worthwhile mod unless it can be a DIY job.

Was considering buying Darkshadow's months ago but decided not to due to weight differences... I reckon those springs would be ok on the back, but jack the front up due to my car not really having an engine

            Yeah - I have spare stock Wheels/Brakes/Springs/Roll Bars/Control Arms/Air intake plumbing
I've sold the Neptune wheels to a fellow forum member

The springs are easy to swap by your self, the only special tool needed is a spring compressor
(Good idea to check wheel alignment afterwards however)

the 90tsi / 1.4L turbo only (not twincharged). lets just say i can see the ground below if i open up my bonnet (can be confirmed by mysticality).

I'd hazard a guess that the 1.9TDI is heavier than the 1.4TSI, so my octy might turn out like this

my previous car was an old V6 A4, couldn't fit anything in the engine bay. in the 90tsi there's a void between the engine and the battery where you can see right through the engine bay here's an example

The engine (or head) has been turned 180 degrees - the exhaust & turbo are at the front!

The exhaust is still up the back IIRC but there's a water/air intercooler right next to the inlet...... or that's how it's done on the 77tsi.

hmmm could be interested in these springs depending on the price of course. If genuinely only a "few" dollars then def yes

Longer exhaust manifold pipe could drop exhaust pressures some?... (I'm still learning about these things :p)
