aftermarket wheels and Bolts...which should be used??

So, from experience with the Tiguan, and hearing other comments from VW/Skoda owners, I beleive that we have to use a specific type of bolt with fitment of new wheels??

Is that correct?
If so, what is the type of bolt that must be used, and why is that?
Does is affect handling, or cause vibrations?
Does the wheel itself have to be made differently in order to accept the proper bolts?

I think you're referring to the seat taper of the wheel lugs. Stock wheels accept ball-seat wheel lugs whereas most aftermarket (not all) accept conical/tapered wheel lugs. Google them up and you'll see the difference. Using ball-seat wheel lugs on wheels that accept conical wheel lugs will cause damage to both the lugs and wheels, and if not tightened properly will work loose more easily.

Yeah are you talking about the stud (bolt) or the lug?

They'll be a certain thread and length, but whoever supplies the wheels should provide them or use your existing ones (with the exception of adding a gorilla lock-nut or something..)

That is what I am concerned about...whether or not the wheels will fit properly and tighten correctly if the bolts are not correct???
