  • New DSG firmware

Car went in for a service yesterday. Uneventful, but the guys at Rockdale Skoda are helpful and friendly.

Anyway, the DSG seems to shift more softly in D, but when shifting to S, it used to go straight into the sports mode gear. ie, if I was cruising in D at 70km/h, shifting to S would put me into S2. Now, it will stay in S6, and then S4, then the moment I give it more throttle, it would hit S2.

Manual appears to be more aggressive also. That I don't mind.

Mines a 2011 MY12 147TSI. anyone else have similar changes after a service?

          15k service

ill do a scan in the next few days, might be a revision or something changed.

im not complaining, just that its a change when i am used to something else happening. just means i have to get used to this way, no biggie!

I'm actually pretty happy with my DSG - not sure I want it updated
(I would certainly like to be advised before they flash it)
I'm only at 16k as yet

Are these updates only available from dealers? Can euro specialists have access to these updates? I've got a DSG7 so I'm not even sure if this will apply to me.

probably doesn't apply to you as we all have the DQ250 transmission.

not sure about software/firmware availability, but perhaps you need to take a trip to a skoda or vw dealer?

                    I agree!
DSG boxes "learn" your driving style, and I worry that any updates would revert all that back to standard again....

it was a year ago that I got the car, but I don't remember it being like this.

anyway, it doesn't shift down to 1st until you are almost at a complete stop. before it was around 6km/h. gear shifts are softer in D.

whoevers there at the meet can have a drive and see how it compares. assuming youre off your Ps - insurance and all

Did they actually tell you or mark on the invoice that a firmware update was done?
