  • FL RS leather inserts

    hey guys,

car has over 11k on the clock, ive noticed the leather (alcantara?) on my normal RS seats is wearing and becoming shiny on the bolstering on the side. I understand it wears due to contact, but what product can i use to stop the shinyness?

have any of you had some success?

    thanks!

Mine doesn't look very shiny... Its at 35k.
Wanna post a couple of pics? :S

The Alcantara is the white bits with the black dots on them. The leather is on the sides, front, rear, and headrest.

hmm I thought alcantara was a leather. learn something new every day!

I wear jeans most of the time, so maybe its wearing the leather faster..........

There are various leather treatment products you can buy, but from my limited knowledge the best ones to use are the products made for horse saddles. So perhaps try your local (or not so local!) saddlery and see what they suggest.

And of course remember that there's 'leather' and then there's leather. I don't imagine the leather in the Skodas is 100% high grade leather. It's likely to be a cheaper grade bonded leather.

Leather goes shiny with wear. I think that if you don't want it to go shiny you will need to stop sitting in the car.
