My13 Octavia Scout?

I just bought a TDI DSG Scout on the weekend for Jan delivery (I hope Jan, its a long enough wait for a purchase, they will confirm more exact date this week)...

Anyway, they said it will definately be an MY13 model but had no idea if that meant there would be anything new added (like MY12 I think had bluetooth standard)...

Does anyone know if there are any differences for the MY13 model in Australia?

I'm awaiting my octavia (Rs, but I would imagine any changes would be similar for Scout) for about the same delivery date as you, told the same by dealer that it is "MY13". The dealer doesn't really know if there is any changes but told me that they think it would be the same as MY12.

Good luck finding out solid info, looks like they pretty much don't know anything for sure until they see one in their showroom. They had to do a lot of investigating just to tell me what the differences are between manual and dsg (referring to mfsw and voice controls etc) and that is for the current FL which has been around for 3 yrs.

Yeah it is weird they don't know.. Bluetooth was apparently added as standard in the MY12 and the dealer said they didn't even know until they had one arrive..

Bluetooth has been standard on Octavias since MY11 (I think I'm correct in saying that - it's been a while) and when the Yeti and Fabia came out the whole range had it as standard. The only MY13 changes I can see with the Skoda range is that the Octavia RS gets new carbon fibre interior trim/black alcantara seats/red stitching/the option of black wheels, the Fabia range gets the Swing radio and Bluetooth audio streaming as standard and the Superb Ambition now has 16 inch 'Moon' (on the Superb GreenLine) 5-spoke wheels instead of the 16 inch 7-spoke 'Spectrum' wheels. Octavias should also be in runout (I've seen some very good deals going around). Extreme I know!

Bluetooth has been standard on Octavias since MY11 (I think I'm correct in saying that - it's been a while)

This was an option for MY12, the newer Rs at the dealerships had the new style interior trims. Doesn't seem like anything new in MY13 except the build date so far.

Let us know how you go with your order. I've was told by a Skoda dealer in September the Scout is out of production and there will be no more arriving in Australia until the new shape in late 2013/early 2014. This means there will be no MY 13 Scouts of the current shape. Quite different from what you are being told so it will be interesting to see where the truth lies.

If it was an option in MY12 cars it wasn't very well publicised!

yeah, they don't seem to want to publicize much that's for sure. The dealer may have mentioned something like "MY12.5" or something came standard with the carbon fibre style dash & door trims. The black alacantara and red stitch was listed as a "no cost option", have seen both in current cars in stock at dealers in Melbourne, the black and c/f looks much better I think.

Columbus and bluetooth were standard on my vRS...

The options available for the MY12 vRS are:
AFS Xenons
Leather
Sun roof
Front park sensors
Cornering fogs (free via VCDS)
Alarm w/ interior monitoring
MDI
Privacy glass (Window tinting not including front windows)
Metallic paint

Taken straight from the brochure.
The only option mine's got specced is the metallic blue paint.

Well got a call today and was told that there are only two cars of my colour coming, one had front sensors and one had mdi...

Why would they be on the ship with accessories already? I think they just found a few locally so what you said makes sense.. I can't take delivery until mid December so I guess it makes no difference either way to me...

Congratulations on your new car. Couldn't be happier with mine which we picked up in November last year. We've done 25K in it since then (!) and it still looks, drives and feels new.

Had a bit of a similar experience - I wanted them to throw bluetooth into the deal when I ordered, and the dealer rang me a few days later to say that it was standard in the MY 12 models. No one was too sure about it before that.

OK all makes sense, there may not yet be an MY13...

They sent me a new contract to sign showing the MDI option included now, and I just noticed it no longer has MY13 on it, they have changed it to MY12..

Guess there is no MY13 model until the new version/body comes along... Funny they could have just admitted the mistake...

All good I only went to buy the 2012 model anyway.. LOL
