I don't care about this sedan.
Bring on the vRS and Scout Wagons!!

Although, a Scout Sedan would be interesting.

not arguing - we've finally got pictures to back the earlier suspicions/thoughts discussed in other threads, and now just pointing it out. ignorance/denial is no good.

even caradvice point out "The prototype’s psychedelic camouflage does a good job of disguising the car’s key styling details, although it’s clear the new model will be longer, lower and sleeker than ever before"

sure, we don't have factual figures (of the dimensions), but its not rocket science to clearly spot the differences in this car with the current model octavia. its not rocket science to connect the dots with the pics released a few weeks ago & this spied version.

Wonder how long it will take the RS to come out, they tend to lag 6-12mths after the basic models come out. Scout usually does as well.

I don't care about what the car looks like. I am pointing out that people should be more courteous to eachother (rather than telling them to pay more attention to detail or put their glasses on).

Octavia section frequenters are tending of late to become more and more rude to eachother.... not cool.

Would be extremely interesting, especially seeing it in the bush.

                      From Briskoda:

"New petrol engines being used: Chain driven, DOHC, aluminium construction
                      1.2 TSI - being dropped
1.4 TSI - reworked with 90kW/200 Nm (120hp/147lb/ft) - new 1.4 has been developed for use in smaller cars
1.4 TSI with ACT (active cylinder technology?) 103 kW/250Nm (138hp/184lb/ft) - new emission busting technology

                      Existing petrol engines being used:
                      1.8TSI - 132KW/250Nm (177hp/184lb/ft)
2.0TSI - could be used, but not allowed for now, restricted to the Superb.

                      Diesel engine
                      1.6 TDI - 2 flavours - 66 kW/230 Nm (88hp/170lb/ft) and 77 kW/250 Nm (103hp/184lb/ft). Octavia to use the larger one
                      2.0 TDI - several versions possible - but 2 versions so far is 110 kW/320 Nm (147hp/236lb/ft) and 135 kW/380Nm (181hp/280lb/ft)"

I'm really liking the sound of the 110 kW/320Nm 2.0TDI, let alone the 135 kW/380Nm version! Hopefully they piss the 1.6 TDI and 90kW 1.4 TSI off - efficient yes, but the Rapid will have them. Initially I think Australia will get the 103kW 1.4TSI, 132 kW 1.8TSI, the 110 kW 2.0TDI and I'm not sure what else. Carsales.com.au recently mentioned that the top-end models are to be put up against low end 3-series and A4s with high equipment levels and higher finishes so maybe that's what the 135 kW 2.0 TDI is for?

The new 1.6TDI and 1.4TSI engines are really at hte pointy end of things for fuel consumption... I reckon it'll be great to have octavia sized vehicles available that are so efficient they blow the hybrids away yet are...not hybrids

Matt your 1.4 also has a supercharger and is famously unreliable (as you have told me many times); this 1.8 has been around for years and will continue to do so .

was just about to say that.

also, the 1.8 has won many many awards.
the new 1.4 has won many complaints. i don't believe they're continue this version through.
