My first thought is wow, it's grown! My second is that I really would like one and I hope it ends up being as nice as I am hoping it is. This car needs to be impressive as it's Skoda's biggest seller.
Are you sure that is not just a current model Muel doing testing????
Not a lot of difference in the front or tail end?
Or did the squiggly lines work at distracting me?
the difference is not going to b night & day, but u can spot them. the squiggles do make it difficult.
just like the golf, skoda will not venture away from the current octavia design/shape, as it has worked very well for them for many many decades.
the most obvious will be the new design language with the front. the rear styling change will b subtle.
as Jake02 mentioned, it has grown.
its been known for a while now that the Octavia is going to grow, with the new Rapid filling the gap down to the Fabia.
interestingly, in the spy shots, they've used the facelift vRS 18" neptunes wheels.

If somebody is really keen they could measure the diameter of the wheel rims in the side on picture then use that figure to work out the wheelbase and overall height and length and see how they compare with the current model.
I would be more inclined to think that this is an engineering drone that essentially has the new underpinnings with a current body that is then heavily disguised to keep prying eyes at bay.
Edit:
I have just had another look at the photos and it looks like a current VRS without the rear wing. If it's not and it really is the new model body I will be very disappointed because the rear hatch, doors, front guards and front air dam are virtually identical to the current VRS.

i c ur attention to detail isn't that great.
the front air-dam is clearly not that of the current vrs.
take note of the bonnet lines, where it comes from the a-pillar (bottom of the windscreen) and over the wheels. its certainly not that of the current octavia.
another give away is the door wing mirrors - they're a different shape, and not certainly that of the current octavia.
another giveaway is the side-skirt - its alot thicker than the current octavia.
i could find more if u want.
as i said before, skoda will not venture far from the current design. the changes will b subtle for the most part.

Someone should have gone to Specsavers...!
The body is entirely new, look at the bonnet shut lines, front bumper and air intake, side skirts, REAR DOOR SHUT LINES, DOOR HANDLES, DOOR MIRRORS, FRONT GRILLE, REAR OVERHANG, C-PILLAR, REAR TAIL LIGHTS, CHARACTER LINE, BRAKE CALIPERS, REAR SUSPENSION... I could keep going, but clearly I must see the world from a different perspective. Although, I did remember to put my contacts in this morning
I can't believe you guys are arguing about what something looks like when that something is deliberately disguised so that its difficult to see what it really looks like.
Please, be more courteous to eachother, children.
