  • Front Parking Sensors

    Hi,

Does anyone have front parking sensors installed?
If so how do they work? Is it a similar type setup to the reverse sensors, where you get a picture come up with the
    distance?
    Or just noise?

    Cheers

I have full park assist and when I get close to anything in the front the picture of the car comes up and unit beeps and shows orange bars across the front for centrel frontal and two outer ones on an angle they show roughly the distance and waver closer till you get 200mm from obstacle the relevant one turns red and screams at you.

Can be tested by turning P ark on and getting someone to walk across front of the vehicle

          u get display & sound.
display is a pic of the whole car, similar to the one below. doesn't matter forward or reverse, it will show the whole car, i.e. both front & rear graphics.

hitting reverse gear will activate both front & rear sensors.
or u can manually trigger them by pressing the "P" button next to the traction control off button.

Yep, I have them, and it is exactly as the other guys have described.

I prob wouldnt have optioned them, but they were part of the build package when I bought my car.

I now love them! great for tight spots in carparks where you are just not too sure...BUT, dont learn to rely on them, as they are not perfect or fool proof.

Just a quick one for those with front sensors...

When it's been raining and my car is still wet, sometimes one of the front corner sensors registers that something is really close and I get the constant "beep" while parking. This must mean that water is somehow triggering the system, but it only happens on the front corners, not at the rear...

              Does anyone else experience this?

Yeah, exactly. Don't rely on them like I did and end up reversing into the neighbour's car across the road Luckily not a lot of damage, but still cost me over $1000 to repair both cars.
