What is this recall and firmware update?

This is the actual recall detail from The Recalls Australia web site.

If you ring the VW/Skoda 1800 number with your VIN or reg number they will be able to confirm whether your car is affected and whether it's shown in their system as fixed.

It would be an interesting legal situation on the dealers part if a fire occurred at this point.

I just called Skoda Assist and asked if my MY09 TDI Superb was affected, apparently it's not.

That's what's in mine. Mine is a June '09 build. Anyway, somebody else's problem, my new MY12 Superb wagon gets delivered in 5 weeks.

I just clicked as to whether this might be related to your exhaust light issue. Didn't you take it into there recently for a service and get them to check it?

The exhaust light went out when I started the car on the day of my 60k service and has stayed out since but I will be mentioning it when I take the car in for it's "firmware update".

Yep yours, it might not be a coincidence that both things happened seeing as its an exhaust related update. Is Vito there anymore?
