that was my second tank in the octavia ever..... the other day I got a 988. I think with a different rout to work (I do the F3 between gosford and hornsby, which is lots of big hills) I'm sure it would be easy to get more than 1000km, but I'm taking up the challenge, and my goal will be 1200km

we shall see - gimme a couple of weeks.

        Its on!

These are some awesome results from everybody.

        (Note: No Golf bluemotion's)

When I got the car, I started a Fuelly account to track everything. Really some interesting numbers here.

doing ok. started driving for economy 190km's into the tank, bit of a disadvantage, but I'm just above half and the trip is at 560km.... not too bad.

Did a trip to Rutherford up the F3 a few weeks ago, got 6.6L/100 average for the journey. 147TSI with bluefin.

For those who are considering bluefin, its good, but it takes about a tank to 'settle in'

Once installed, i had more power and torque, but was doing around 18L/100 around the city, by the time the tank was half done, i was back to around 9-10L/100. IMO well worth the money i paid for it.

Well, I got through a tank finally - but there was a snag....

Saturday morning, I installed amp wiring throug the octavia and totally forgot to take the odo reading before I disconnected the battery - so I only know what I got within about 50kms.

Basically, I filled up with 52.5L and I had done about 1040km..... thats based on the last number I remember seeing on the odo before I disconnected

So thats a tank average of just over 5 exactly, perhaps better, I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with that given these conditions:

              > Most of the tank was daily commuting, with a round trip of 100km.
              > The tank included a trip into the city, and a trip to Newcastle at the beginning where I wasnt driving for economy (at all!)
              > Also included 2 runs to pick up my wife at Macquarie Park
              > Cold weather
              > 100% biodiesel
              > No tune at all.

I'm going to keep trying for 1200

                Thats impressive!!

Do you have one of the huge "NO BIODIESEL" stickers on your fuel flap?
Where do you buy the biodiesel from?
What kinda costs difference is it?

My most recent fill (yesterday) was 5.8l/100km actual over approx 750km. I did a lot of freeway driving over the last tank.
In my experience the dash display is up to 20% optimistic about the consumption that it reports.

You can adjust the dash display via vcds. Mines very close.
