FL rear badge delete

hey guys, has anyone removed the Octavia or vRS badges on FL Octy's ?

if so please let me know what's involved ..

AFAIK there are no holes in the panel.

they are double sided taped on. some fishing line to get the badges off and a clay kit to remove the sticky residue would fix it right up.

some dental floss + hair dryer (to soften the glue) + a credit card (or any flat plastic card).
that's the easy part. the hard part would b wiping clean the left-over glue/sticky bits.

i'm not sure about the octy though, but "filling the holes" maybe required, depending on its design.

when i was removing the badges of my previous car (astra), the name badges were no problem, but the holden logo badge had two pin holes.

If you have watched the Skoda build vids someone posted here last year, you can see them put on the badges at the end, and they are look to just be stuck on.

thanks heaps for the info guys, I'm not yet 100% on the decision but once I drum up enough courage then I'll put the dental floss to good use .. not like I use it for anything else anyway

When we last spoke about sexing up the rear end/ more aggresive look, why not get this rear spoiler.....

hey Rob yeah it is, and I'm thinking about taking both badges off the back as I reckon it's currently way too cluttered and unclean.


I'm not yet sold on that spoiler, and I'd say it definitely needs a body kit (as shown) to help it work, but then I'm yet to see a body kit that I actually like ... wish OSIR sold stuff for Octy's, now they know how to design body kits that look good!

From what I can gather in the UK they tend to prefer to debadge their Octy's. There is a few who don't mind keeping the VRS badge.
The rear spoiler would give it a less drop off look and in black may look ok on your car. I agree the body kit in the pic is not much chop.

haven't done the octavia or vrs badges as yet, think I might leave them be, maybe, BUT I got to work and sawed off my rear badge this arvo with dental floss (yay it's good for something!!) after a minute or so of heating the sticky backing foam up with the hairdryer.

I gave it a good coating with satin black enamel paint and it's drying at the moment ... and once dry I'll stick it back on with double-sided tape.
