    Hi.
It's early morning here in dear old Blighty 2.55am.
I found VWW while surfing like you do at this sort of hour and had some pic's handy on image shack i'd like to share. Some of the pics show wheels before i had them refinished in gloss black plus some earlier pics of car in other stages of change.
Be good to chat and see what's happening on the Oz Skoda scene as they seem to be popular there now .
I'm currently installing late Audi TT alloy wishbones and hub carriers and will update asap!.

    Cheers.

      Thanks.
Yes it's amazed me how quick she is especially with the chassis sorted. Can't wait to get the TT wishbone and hubs fitted which will reduce unsprung weight and road noise quite a bit.

Why road noise? Aluminium transmits vibration much better than steel does... (I'd still do the mod though )

            Hi.
It sounds like you don't get too many tdi's in Oz by your reply.
Back here the tdi rs is by far the most popular choice. A lot of people underestimate the torque especially with a well sorted remap.
I did have a DPF OFF kit on the car ( diesel particulate filter ) a year ago but the Pd engines with Siemens ecu simply will not run well with no back pressure so have reinstalled it and gone to a specialist for a proper on the Dyno remap. Really the diesel cars don't gain anything with exhaust mods as it's all in by 4.500rpm. With 408nm torque who needs the expense. Are the Oz cars to the same spec as Uk rs's!?.
Be good to see your car ! any pics!!.

            Hi thanks for feedback.
Yes sound travels faster through aluminium but it absorbs more kinetic energy . It's used a lot in soundproofing and insulating such as factory roofs and freeway sound wall barriers etc .
My main reason for the change to TT wishbones though is they have a higher roll centre which really improves steering feel.

                Thanks mate.
What are you driving!? You really should get into the warm pool of diesel's. DIESEL+ FUN = 45MPG.
My mate struggles to keep me in his sights with his Tfsi Golf!.

Nice pre-FL RS you got there mate. Great to see another well modded one. The VAG diesel are pretty good and well worth tuning and having some good ol fun with. Other diesels like the korean ones, um not so good (personal experience).
Look forward to following up on your progress. Any more mods coming along soon?

black MY12 vRS Octy for me mate .. I'm having dark thoughts about putting a monster turbo in later this year

I know the diesel models are damn good, but I love my top end a little too much, hehe

                      Cheers Dave.
At the moment it's mainly the ally suspension work but later this year plan on engine/trans removal to uprate the clutch and flywheel as the torque is so strong low down that i can provoke slippage in 4th as the grunt comes in strong anything from over 1000rpm.

Are your coppers more forgiving out there! Our's are right F!!!!!R's with their new cameras plus they are using standard Vrs's as patrol car's so you don't know till you see the blue lights. As my rpm limiter is up by 500 rpm i did manage 145mph in germany last year which she hits pretty easy that's approx 4.500rpm. 70mph is 1950rpm so back home i just revel in the midd range and stay safe. I guess you have some good deserted roads to go on too.
Keep us posted on the turbo install if you go ahead with it.

The only thing I wanna do to my exhaust is probably make it sound more dieselly... Kinda like a TD5 Defender on full tilt.
I have this massive pipe dream about pulling up next to a Commodore (local "boy racer" car of choice; large sedan/wagon/ute with V6 or V8 engine) with my diesel clack and turbo whine, then just disappearing up ahead.

As far as the coppers are concerned... Nah. XD

Although, the highway I drive every Wednesday night at 1am is completely empty. 60k's of pure bliss. Uphill, though... But you can only tell because of the economy. (7L/100km, as opposed to 2-4 going the other way)

408Nm torque?? My CR TDI is only 350Nm! I feel cheated. :S
Or is that after the remap?

Diesel is extremely common here, especially in larger 4WD's.
I've only ever had good experiences with Korean diesels. (Especially Kia's new R engine. 2.2ltr CRDi)

I have some pics in the Skoda Pics thread; although I'm thinking I should upload some of it in its current state (covered in mud) - You have heard of the local floods, right? Bloody grassy backyards!

This is after the remap. I had mine set up on a dyno by a guy who really knows his software.
It's lot more expensive but a lot more tailored to your car than a lot of the plug and play tunes out there. My car was making 180bhp standard as the graph shows but it's always been a quick one.
Yes i did hear about the floods. It's crazy when i also hear about the drought's there too. We have it easy on this little island of ours really!!.
