Grrrrr.... Skoda spotted in entirely the wrong way

So I'm tootling home minding my own business when I spy a Silver FL Octavia TSI hatch coming up in the left lane. We get close to a bus parked in his lane, so he responds by flooring it placing him up the date of a shiny red 911 then pulls into my lane on top of me without indicating. Let's see that's fail to maintain a safe distance, fail to signal change of direction, fail to give way.

Better yet, hand signals to me that I should have used my head... presumably to let him do what he wanted. Just another day in Melbourne, but Skoda on Skoda? Very disappointing. I sure hope the silver haired 'gentleman' in question is not a forum member.

Hmmm.....what a pity. Why are some peeps like that? I nearly got run off my lane and into a truck in the adjacent lane just trying to get outta the way of a crazy female driver. Sheeesh WOMEN!!!!! Kinda reminds me of the other night at dubaddiction talking to a fellow forum member how stats say that men are more likely to get into accidents than women but what they fail to understand is that some times us men get into accidents due to dodging the WOMEN who can't bloody drive!

Unfortunately it's the behaviour my new found friend demonstrated tonight that is behind the high crash rate for men. A surfeit of attitude over talent (That's not a crack at you Gti Dave BTW ).

Still, over it now. Had a rant, had a run, all good and ready to take it all on again tomorrow. Thank God for ABS, ESC and lots of airbags

I guess sometimes we can all get a little worked up over other idiotic road users and I'm sure at times we get so pissed off that we just wanna go punch the person or scream at them. However, as we're a civilised and cultured bunch, we just come on to the forums for a little rant and thats the end of that. Well at least until another day.

The white RS who lives in my area waved at me on the first day of ownership.
Every time I see a Golf R, Scirocco R or Octavia vRS I get a warm glow.

Yeh, see that's what made it worse. I love seeing other Skodas on road and I was pleased I spotted the silver one as a Skoda from way in the distance behind me.

Glad at least one owner waved to you Mysticality. Back in the day when I had Renaults and Peugeots owners used to wave all the time. Acknowledging each others good taste

There's a guy at work with a Superb I have chewed the fat with, also owners of other Euro brands who are interested in Skoda. Spent ages at the motor show talking to a guy visiting the Skoda stand who was interested. Wonder if he took the plunge. That's one of the benefits of owning something different, talking to fellow fans. Like on this forum.

Actually, the loaner car the dealership gave me was a Renault 19.
I saw other people looking at me... But they weren't waving.
Can't understand why. It was an amazing vehicle. A '92 with nearly everything my MY12 had! Bar all the fancy digital and audio stuff.

I remember hiring a Renault Modus in England several years back that had so much stuff I spent 15 minutes in the rental car park trying to figure it out. Totally gave up and just drove it in the end lol.

This is definitely my favourite thing about the vRS, coming from a Sorento and a Rio.
I miss the steering wheel audio though.

The driver might not be the owner of the vehicle. It could be a rental car and he didn't even realize he is in a Skoda. It could be a loan car while he had his car serviced (or towed away).

Skoda drivers are usually conservative and put safety and practicality above all else, so very rarely that you would find someone silly like that. That sort of behaviour are usually found in Toyota and Hyundai drivers.

Nah I gotta disagree, I that sort of behaviour are USUALLY found in "Commonwhore" and "Falcodore" drivers. I generally find that Toyota and Hyundai drivers are just plain slow and like to drive at 60 in a 80 zone and rather than speeding up to turn into your lane, they slow down. Oh and they also drive slow in the fast lane too

Not me! I still think I'm driving the RS to work and still gun it, due to the diesel and the weight it has a slight delay but the SF takes off pretty quick.
