Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • What products do you use on your vRS seats?

    Hey all,

just wondering what you guys use on the leather sections of your vRS seats? I'm currently using Aerospace 303 (my favourite product for almost everything ) just to keep them looking nice, but wondering if they would benefit from a leather conditioner. By the way, are they actually real leather or just pleather?

    Thanks

Again, the most of the answers are in the Detailing section, but this man who posted in the sticky thread, just above this one knows a lot about cars seats. See this and scroll to the end of that post for thread with the discussion. http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tml#post606796

To the best of my knowledge, the leather section on the Alcantara seats are real leather.
The same section on the leather seats is real leather, the rest is pleather.

The brochure lists the Leather Seats option as "Leather/Artificial Leather combination seats".

I'm pretty sure the rear of the front seats is vinyl, as are the sides. You can kinda tell what's real and not.
