Yep, Sep 2009 RS TDI all OK. Checked with Skoda Parramatta and recall does not affect us.

The service rep at the dealership confirmed that her car does require recall, and was apologetic, and said that it was "lucky" that I'd figured out what had happened.
We haven't received a recall letter for our MkVI TDI which we bought as a new vehicle.

Possibly your car is a different build batch. It's only a guess on my part, but I'm thinking that it's the production batch of the engines, and which builds those engines went into that would determine recall. The Golf VI was officially released here in 2009, and I'm seeing above that there are two '09 build Skoda TDI's that aren't subject to recall.

Of course, the other possibility for me is that the dealer I rang got it wrong, and Mrs BS car isn't subject to recall......, but I really don't want to go there.

I had the injector pipe dampeners fitted to the RS on Tuesday. I was at the dealer for 1 hr 20 mins, and although I would have preferred that they didn't, they cleaned the car inside and out. I had been told that if I got the car there at 07:30 that it'd be done without delay, and that I could wait in the customer lounge. The dealer, Trivett Rosebery (Sales)/Alexandria (Service) were true to their word. They seem to run an efficient valet type reception/pick-up area, and the lounge is something like a smaller version of an airport club lounge.

Apparently only 85 Skoda's in Australia are affected by the recall.
I wonder how many 2.0L diesel Skodas have been sold in Australia?

Strange. Mine is registered December 2009 so it would have been built in Sept or Oct and It's in the the recall.
