Its hard to think of another car that has the same value for money, performance and space. It really is an excellent family-friendly performance car.

I really think there is a niche un-filled here - if you want "R" level performance but need a bigger boot than a golf there really is nothing available on the market - your only option is the next step up the ladder to the S4 avant at £37k (and 328bhp) which is a massive leap compared to a £26k Scirocco R or £20k Vrs. Look outside the Vag stable and no other manufacturer fills this niche either. I am convinced there is a market for a 260bhp fwd estate. Škoda have teased us in the past with RS "plus" concepts but nothing ever seems to come of those which is a shame.

The only option for someone in my position really is to make my own - hence the changes I've made to my car: lower, stiffer, faster.

Yes, true, and I think it applies to the liftback as well, everything I was browsing before I got the RS was tiny on the boot space.
Worst of these was the Ford XR5 ..... ****, you'd be luck to get 1 small suitcase in the back of that ! lol

The HUGE boot space makes us smile from ear to ear each and everytime. Can't seen to ever fill up the boot. Went on a holiday a while ago in the Octavia Liftback and even though we brought along a crapload of stuff, we still had more space left and the **** would fly around. I think I need to get one of those boot liners with the boot space dividers. At least its a good problem to try and solve. LOL.
