Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

When I rang Essendon I asked for a quote for a Octavia Vrs and the guy didn't know what I was talking about, oops my bad, meant to say rs. Surely he could use his brain and know what I was talking about. Surely He should know its Vrs in other countrys?
Anyway Quote was $515 inc gst + $130 for brake fluid. and $25 for loan car
Epping didn't have the paperwork in front of him and would get back within 1/2 hour, been over 2 now and no call.
Richmond was professional $560 +150 for brake fluid and free loan car (well was last service)
Still want to try VolksTech - Home but they are closed until Monday
Had the 30k service today at Volkstech and I am very happy with the service. Was a lot cheaper at $395 than what was quoted at dealers and it included brake fluid and pollen filter change. Car was washed and vacumed ,workshop was clean, waiting room clean with A/C. Will definitely be recommending them and will book the golf in next month.

Just got back from holidays and wow, looks like I missed a lot!
I'm glad I didn't go ahead with Lance Dixon before I left, I think $500+ is a bit steep for a 30K service (and perhaps no wash!).
I may have to ring around the dealer network tomorrow as I need to get some warranty work done also.
Or, I could service at VolksTech and get the warranty work done elsewhere.... might be the cheaper option.
