  • Octavia Scout - MY11 vs MY12

    Hi,

After a few months of research and reading forums we've taken the plunge and signed on the line for a new Candy White Octavia Scout from Rockdale Skoda. We are getting an optional sunroof and therefore have to wait for delivery.

The cars that have been at the dealerships are MY11 and the car we'll be delivered is going to be MY12.

Does anyone know what the difference will be? As far as I understand, mechanicals will be the same, body and exterior styling will be the same and about the only difference I can find is the removal of the dashboard grab handle. (I kind of liked it, it was a bit quirky and different, but never mind).

Aside from this fairly minor styling change will there be other points of difference between MY11 and MY12 in the Scout?

    Thanks

    Mal

It's kinda funny as technically cars made after July are already MY12 from SKoda, so they have pushed through almost a MY12.5 update at the last minute. Although I don't know when wk 45 was, maybe it was already a few months back. AFAIK the only real difference was that bluetooth was standard with all Oz orders for MY12 with the price hike to match.

we are in calender week 45 now (7/11 to 13/11).
my12 started in jully, after their yearly factory shutdown period.

usually the significant changes are only introduced around wk 40-45. not when they transition to my11 to my12.

I remember when I bought my RS, and the new DSG options and diesel were only just starting about now, as well as the 2.5 change where the Bolero and inside changed. It was so hard to get out of the dealer what was coming and when.

            Thanks guys,

I'd read that post about the MY12 late changes and had only seen the reference to the dash handle. Was just wondering if there was anything else in the Scout - most changes appear to be trim in the other models.

Bring on the new year... and the new wheels. Can't wait.

Congratulations. We took the plunge and traded in the passat on a new scout this week (which is apparently on the ship and docks tomorrow). Dealer tells me it's an MY 12 and the only difference from the one we test drove is that bluetooth is standard. Ours is satin and we asked for a towbar to be fitted (how expensive was that?) but we need it to tow the hobie around. Dealer reckons we'll be driving it on the 21st. Can't wait.
