Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

When was the first moment that you could not stop staring at a Skoda?

For me it was a blue Octy vRS wagon that I saw at the shell servo on the corner of Burke/Barkers Rds in Kew, sometime in the last 6-15 months .. I literally could not stop staring at it

Bluefrog, I share your ideal brother...!
After I drove her home, I went inside, made a cuppa, and just sat on the porch staring at her. Sad, I know.
I still do the look back from time to time.

Let me know once you've found that shrink and I'll book myself in too.

I saw an RS parked in my street and gave it the once over. Research then began and the GTi I was looking for soon became a distant memory. On the lookout now, looking forward to securing one soon.

First of all, excuse me with my poor English, I wish I could speak/write better but been too lazy to study any harder.

I still do not understand why I didn’t get the Scout in the first place but I cannot stop staring whenever I see a white Octavia Scout covered with dust, mud and whatever.

As an ex-Subaru owner, I always have a soft spot for a car with AWD/4WD running gear with a bit of off road ability, even if it is mere a pretentious image.

I still watch and wave as the Mrs drives off in our vRS wagon.

She thinks I'm being the loving husband but really I'm just checking out the car

LOL ... yep, know what you mean.

For me, saw it first on the web .... went to the Melville showroom, walked around the demo RS for maybe 20 minutes (bloody salesman was busy). Poppin doors and bonnets and storage, in and out of seats, long stares from off in the corner of the showroom.
...... took if for a test drive ..... deliberately had to force myself to wait a week, not to seem to earger, negotiate a price for the demo because I couldn't wait to get back in it LOL
